Filling the Top Bar

Glenn suits up

Michael compares the top bar pieces to the
frames themselves.

Glenn holds the frame, while Michael inserts the screws.

Screwing the top bar piece to the nuc frame.

After brushing the bees back into the box,
Michael holds the frame, while Glenn guts the wooden side
with a grinder.

With a tin snips, Michael and Glenn follow
the top bar template Michael made that morning.

More cutting the wax to fit inside the top bar.

Michael opened the screen so the girls could get some air while
they waited for their new home to be completed.

A swarm formed around the lid while the ladies waited.

Some of the clipped-away frame. Larvae appears at the edge.
Sadly, they had to be sacrificed so that the frame would fit.
